The 4-Step Copywriting Formula That Helped Us Sell $7M With Facebook Ads

Copy is everything.
It’s what turns browsers into buyers—and most dropshippers are doing it wrong.
This 4-step formula helped us generate over $7 million in sales from Facebook ads.
Now we’re handing it to you.

Let’s be real for a second.

You can have the best-looking store on the planet. You can spend thousands on ads. You can even have a viral product.

But if your copywriting is weak?
You’re leaving money on the table. A lot of it.

Truth is copy is everything.

The emails you send.
The hook in your videos.
The words on your website.
Even the random text on your packaging.

All of it is copywriting and when it’s done right, it can literally change your business.

In our case, it helped us generate over $7 million in sales from Facebook ads alone.

And today, we want to walk you through the 4-step system we use to write winning ad copy, known as the AIDA method.

Let’s break it down.

A: Attention

The first line of your ad is your biggest chance to stop the scroll.

If it’s boring or too long? They’re gone. You’ve already lost.

Here are a few types of openers that work really well:

  1. Confirm Something Surprising
“It’s true: [shocking or unexpected product fact].”
  2. Say the Opposite
“Why sugar might actually be good for you…”
  3. Ask a Question
“Do your eyes ever burn after a long day on the computer?”
  4. Just Say the Product
“Blue Light Glasses – Back in Stock.”

The key? Keep it short. You’re not trying to sell in the first sentence—you’re just trying to earn the next one.

I: Build Interest

Now that they’re paying attention, don’t lose them.

This is your moment to go deeper.
You can explain your opening line, tell a quick story, or introduce a pain point they’ll relate to.

Let’s take a look at how this looks in a few examples.

Longer, Story-Based Example:

(A) It’s true: staring at a screen all day can wreck your sleep.

Ever wonder why?

(I) Your devices emit blue light, which triggers your brain to reduce melatonin—the hormone that helps you sleep.

That’s why we spent 3 years testing over 70 different glasses to find ones that actually work.

Now we’ve finally created the perfect blue light blocking glasses that not only protect your eyes from blue light but also look cute.

Short & Punchy Example:

(A) Cute Blue Light Glasses

(I)
✔️ Protect Your Eyes, While Looking Cute
✔️ Over 25,000+ Satisfied Customers Worldwide
✔️ 1-3 Day Shipping

Question-Driven Example:

(A) Do your eyes feel tired after work?

(I) Meet the (BRAND NAME) Blue Light blocking glasses that make screen time easier—and bedtime even better.

You can see that Interest is being used to either tell a story or highlight a relatable pain point your audience may have. Interest can also be used to share important information about your brand or the product itself (like in example 2).

D: Create Desire

Now that they understand what the product does, help them imagine life with it.

Let them feel the outcome.

Here’s the line we use all the time:

“If you want to [the result they’re after], it’s time to buy [product] for yourself”

Here’s how this would look in the 3 ad copies we wrote:

1. Story-based:

“A: It’s true: staring at a screen all day can wreck your sleep.

Do you know why?

I: Electronic devices emit blue light. Which triggers your brain to reduce the production to melatonin, the hormone that helps you sleep.

This is exactly why it’s so hard to go to sleep after scrolling through the social media feed.

That’s why over the past 3 years we’ve been creating, analyzing, and testing over 70 different blue light blocking glasses to find ones that actually work.

Now we’ve finally created the perfect blue light blocking glasses, that not only protect your eyes but also look cute.

D: “If you want to protect your eyes, you need to get a pair of blue light glasses for yourself!”

2. Short-and-Punchy

“A: Cute Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I:
✔️ Protect Your Eyes, While Looking Cute
✔️ Over 25,000+ Satisfied Customers Worldwide
✔️ 1-3 Day Shipping”

D: Protect your eyes and look cute”

3. The Question

A: “Do computers give you eye strain?”

I: Meet the [BRAND NAME] Blue light blocking glasses.

Every day we spend hours staring at our phones, computers, and other electronic devices.

They emit harmful blue light, which makes our eyes tired and makes it hard to fall asleep.

D: Stop worrying about eye strain or sleepless nights with [BRAND] blue light blocking glasses!”

A: Action

You’ve got them interested, even excited—but you forget the most important part:
Tell them what to do next. Be clear, simple and confident.

Try lines like:

  • Just click the button below and get your pair now!

What are you waiting for? Get your pair while you can

→ [LINK]

Pro Tip: Create urgency by adding scarcity

Humans are lazy and we always think “I’ll do it later” Scarcity creates a sense of urgency and gets people to buy now. That’s exactly why timers or visualization of scarcity works well (even in the website/landing page).

“⚡ 45% Off – Today Only”

“Only 12 left in stock.”

You don’t need to be spammy—just give them a real reason to act now, not later.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, great copy sells.

It’s not about writing like a poet or being overly clever.
It’s about saying the right things in the right way—clearly, simply, and with intention.

And when you use this AIDA method (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action), you’ll start to see your ads hit harder, convert better, and bring in way more sales.

So next time you sit down to write an ad…

👉 Use this formula.
👉 Speak like a human.
